Digital printing hardware and software has transformed the business of fine art reproduction. Giclée printing, pronounced (JEE-CLAY), is a process that requires the original to be scanned digitally and recorded to a disk. With our printer, we can digitally print one or more images at a time, with the color integrity superbly close to the original.
Step 1:
Provide original art, 4" x 5" transparency or high-resolution digital file.
- This initial step is most crucial. We prefer to work from your original art for color matching.
- Determine the maximum final size of the print (to be sure we scan at the proper resolution).
- A scan of the artwork is created.
Step 2:
Our staff inspects the digital file provided or scan created.
- Image is inspected for dust, scratches or flaws; then adjusted and cleaned.
- The “clean file” is sent to production for printing.
Step 3:
8” x 10” proofs are created on the final output media.
- Our printing technician reviews the proof for color matching prior to client presentation.
- Client reviews the proof and gives printing approval.
Step 4:
Print production begins.
- After receiving the client’s signed approval, we produce the print on the final media and at the full size ordered.
